The Mighty Mac by Air

What words can describe the awesome majesty of the Mackinac Bridge? Longer than the Golden Gate, it connects Michigan's Lower Peninsula with the Upper Peninsula (referred to as "God's Country" by those familiar with the UP.)

Before the Bridge was built, cars and trucks were transported by ferry (weather permitting). There is not enough room on this page to list all the stories and statistics of The Mighty Mac (or the original "Big Mac" as some call it) or even come close. If you know of good reference books and where they can be purchased, e-mail us and we'll list them at the bottom of the page.

Enjoy the pictures. If you have a few of your own you'd like to add, e-mail them to Northern Lights and we'll put the good ones on-line as well.
